Portland Awarded 1st Runner Up in Outstanding Chapter Category:

Financial Executives International Acknowledges Local Chapter’s Efforts to Increase Membership and Participation

PORTLAND, OR – After eight years of board participation, On-Site Financial’s Managing Director of Business Development Jim Kotchik, together with his chapter’s board, enjoys the 1st Runner Up distinction under his watch as the 2003-2004 President of Financial Executives International (FEI) local chapter. The Portland Chapter has not celebrated an award since its inception in 1943, and was honored within the prestigious large-chapter category, second only to the Chicago chapter.

FEI is world-wide organization with a long-standing history dating back to 1931, and now consists of 200 chapters serving over 15,000 mid and senior level financial executives. The Portland Chapter has 215 members.

Resulting from several years of focused efforts by the Portland FEI chapter, “This award is a tribute to hard work by our board, and we’re very proud of what we’ve done to earn this honor,” states Jim Kotchik, Managing Director of Business Development for On-Site Financial.

Kotchik credits the Portland FEI chapter’s recent success to their active career services function for members in transition and their efforts to better communicate the value of membership to prospects. While the award was given under his leadership, Kotchik credits years of board service and dedication to the chapter’s success. Kotchik adds “Particularly noteworthy to this honor, is our chapter’s ability to achieve this growth in the face of the economic environment our region has faced over the past few years. We’ve been able to grow and add value to our members despite cut-backs and a depressed economy – and that is significant.”

Kotchik joined On-Site Financial after several years as Senior Vice President and CFO of the Portland Trail Blazers. Prior to that, he held significant management positions with United Grain Corporation andPrice Waterhouse and is a CPA. Kotchik has B.S.(accounting) and M.B.A. (decision sciences) degrees from the University of Oregon. He is currently the President of the Portland Chapter of Financial Executives International and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Accounting Circle at the University of Oregon.
